Camelbak Motherlode Hydration
Best Tactical Pack under $175?
I am looking at buying a tactical pack, hydration or otherwise, that can be worn with a normal ACU uniform, but can also be used for civilian travel, hiking, etc.
I was looking at the Camelbak BFM and Motherlode…are there any other brands, models in that price range that you can recommend? Also, is it better to get a pack in a solid color like coyote brown, or the acu pattern? I read that people have had some trouble when using the ACU pattern such as at foreign airports and other situations.

I am in the military…have not yet been issued a pack, and have a current job that requires me to be in uniform but I do not have a backpack that fits in with the regs to be worn with ACUs. I wanted a tactical pack because I figured I would be able to use it later if I wanted to.
Personally, I really like Tactical Tailor. It’s a small company from the Fort Lewis area, great customer service, and was basically started in the founders barracks when he started producing items for his squad/ platoon. I have quite a bit of TT equipment (not the backpack, though. My aid bags are made by Blackhawk) and I have never had a complaint.

And as far as colors go, nothing wrong with OD. The Army might have a problem if you go with coyote, and OD isn’t as noticable as ACU to regular people.
