Backpack Large
Can anyone recommend a good backpack for a law student?
I’m starting law school in the fall and am looking to get a sturdy, large backpack that will be able to handle my laptop, lots of heavy books, and all that fun stuff. Price is also a consideration. Any recommendations?
When I was in law school, I had a backpack by The North Face that had a special compartment for my laptop. It said “modem” on the outside. I also had a locker in the law school building where I could leave stuff so I didn’t rely so much on my backpack. If you don’t have a locker, you might want to consider a rolling backpack or laptop bag. I know my Torts and Civil Procedure books must have weighed close to 20 pounds together, and I had those classes on the same day. If I didn’t have a locker, I would have need a rolling backpack or a chiropractor.
Look on ebay for a used or inexpensive backpack. I know money is tight when you’re in school, but you don’t want to skimp too much on this or it may break and you’ll have to pay twice. Remeber that you’ll use the bag for 3 years, so it’s a worthwhile investment.
Also, you may already know this, but look for used books and materials on websites like half.com, alibris.com, and amazon.com. NEVER pay the bookstore prices.
