Roller coaster accidents?? No shoulder harnesses?
I’m doing an essay on why all roller coasters should have shoulder harnesses, and i need some proof. I’ve had a LOT of trouble searching for accidents on the internet, so do you know about any roller coaster accidents that have happened with roller coasters that DO NOT have shoulder harnesses????
Accidents on coasters that don’t have shoulder restraints do not happen simply because they don’t have them. Roller coasters without OTSR are specifically designed to be completely safe with only lap bars and seat belts. The most common reasons why accidents do happen on these coasters are that the rider was of an exceptional size and couldn’t be secured properly, the rider or ride attendant was careless, or because of technical malfunctions (such as with the braking system). And yes, a coaster with over the shoulder restraints could even be more dangerous to the riders due to the fact that they will bang their heads or necks on them, especially on rougher coasters.
Perhaps you should rethink the topic of your essay if you can, as you won’t be finding many examples of why what you say is true.
